The Skies Unlimited Story - Real Observers, Honest Advice
Skies Unlimited was founded in 2004 by real amateur astronomers seeking to share their hobby with others. We've been active in the hobby for many years, and brought with us our collective telescope buying experiences. In general, we found that manufacturers publish lots of information about their telescopes, but often too little is actually relevant to the true viewing experience. We wanted to create a store where people could go for honest advice on amateur astronomy. Everyone who works at Skies Unlimited is an active amateur astronomer, and they speak from a position of experience. We'll take the time to help you identify your needs and expectations. Then we'll help you pick the right telescope or accessory.
The Skies Unlimited Retail Store - Yes, we do have one...
We're located outside of Pottstown, PA just beyond the bright lights of Philadelphia where you can still see stars at night. In our showroom telescope buyers can see the products we sell, look through them, or see how easy they would be to lift. But even if you cannot visit us in person, a member of our staff will walk out onto the floor and describe the telescope to you. We are happy to provide weights and dimensions because sometimes the photographs on websites and in catalogs often do not convey these critical aspects of the instruments.
Throughout the years we've held numerous in-store events in cooperation with our largest vendors to showcase their latest telescope and accessory offerings. Vendors including Celestron, Meade, TeleVue, Explore Scientific, Stellarvue, Lunt Solar Systems and iOptron have all participated over the years.
Personal interaction with our customers is essential to delivering the buying experience that we ourselves would expect to receive. Hosting in store events to showcase new product offerings from our vendors also helps to keep us up to date with the latest developments in our industry. Whether you are shopping in our showroom or online, at Skies Unlimited we believe in our philosophy of first hand product knowledge by real amateur astronomers.
