The Celestron Omni XLT 150R is a large aperture fact focal ratio achromatic refractor that is ideal for observing deep space objects at low to medium powers. It provides enough aperture to take you well beyond the moon and planets to a variety of deep space objects, including galaxies, nebulae, and globular clusters. The relatively fast f/5 focal ratio of this big achromat suggest that it would be less than ideal for observing the moon and planets at high magnification. That said, the relatively short focal length will allow you to see extended objects such as the Andromeda galaxy or Veil Nebula in their entirety, which is something most other telescope types simply cannot do.
The CG-4 equatorial mount provides slow motion controls on both axis, allowing you to track an object with the simple turn of a knob. This mount also features ball bearings on both axis to allow for smooth motion. All in all this is quite a bit of telescope for under $1000.
