Celestron CGX
Mounts of this size are used primarily for astrophotography as opposed to casual visual observing. The equatorial head is the heaviest single component of the system, weighing in at 44 pounds. This is well within most people's definition of a portable system, but there is some heavy lifting involved. Other components including the tripod and individual counterweights are more manageable at 19 and eleven pounds, respectively. Unlike most German equatorial mounts, there is no provision for sighting Polaris through a bore in the right ascension axis for casual visual observing. Precise polar alignment may be achieved using the internal All Star polar alignment routine, or by use of an optional polar axis finder.
