Why you should consider Celestron X-Cel LX Eyepieces

Here at Skies Unlimited we are very fond of the X-Cel LX eyepiece line, and we think you should be too. These eyepieces are a significant improvement over the standard Plossl eyepieces supplied with almost all telescopes today. Their larger 60 degree apparent field of view compares favorably to the 50 degree apparent field of a Plossl. More important, both the eye relief and the size of the eye lens are consistent across the entire line. These attributes scale up and down with the focal length of a Plossl eyepiece, making short focal length Plossls both uncomfortable and impractical to use at focal lengths less than about 9 mm. If that isn't enough to convince you, then the value should. You quite literally need to spend at least twice as much to find a better eyepiece than the Celestron X-Cel LX.
