Meade's revolutionary LS (TM) LightSwitch (TM) series of telescopes use advanced technologies like GPS, LNT (TM) and ECLIPS (TM) CCD imaging to do what no other consumer telescopes have done before: take all the hassle out of using a telescope. Simply flip the switch and the LS automatically aligns itself. Astronomer Inside then takes you on a guided multimedia tour of the best objects in your sky. The aluminum mount is lightweight and portable, yet has a rigid structure with precision worm-gear drives for the ultimate in tracking and pointing accuracy. All this combined with Meade's Advanced Coma-Free or Schmidt-Cassegrain optical systems provide the stargazer with the most sophisticated, yet easiest to use telescope ever.

Optional 3.5" Video Monitor. The Meade 3.5 inch LCD display monitor will enhance the use of any Meade telescope with Astronomer Inside (TM) technology by allowing the user to view the informative video presentations built into the telescope. With the display monitor connected to the telescope, you can learn the secrets and details of the objects you observe while you are viewing them. The Astronomer Inside will tell you about the planets, stars, constellations, clusters, nebulae, galaxies and more in a fun and interesting way. With the Meade 3.5 inch display, you will explorer the universe in a way you never have before.
Built in CCD Imaging? Meade's own description of this telescope leads you to believe it has a built in CCD imaging capability. That may be true to a very limited extent, but we do not advise purchasing this telescope thinking that it will deliver high quality images. The built in camera is there to automate the alignment process, but it has a very low resolution. You could easily get a better image simply by aiming your smart phone camera into the eyepiece.
