John S. about  Revolution Imager System R2:
Mar 7, 2016
I do believe that the Revolution package will shake-up and wake up new interest in amateur astronomy. One does not have to pack up and drive a distance to get remarkable results. Neighbors' lights are no longer a problem (other than for the ecology).
My neighbor was astounded by some images I showed him on the spot, and was as surprised at the low cost of the video components.
This has definitely rekindled the fire of discovery I felt in prior years, as I hope it will for many others.

Gerard W. about  Revolution Imager System R2:

This comes in a very nice case which holds the camera, screen and assorted cables and controls. It’s easy to put together but there are a number of cables so be prepared to connect route and zip tie to maintain some control. Over all the product works great and is great for outreach programs as multiple people can observe the same object simultaneously. Was a big hit at the last one. Priced fairly for everything you get. I also opted for the optional adapter to mount the screen onto the scope.

The personnel at Skies Unlimited were knowledgeable and patient. They answered all of my questions. I came in to the store with the intent of buying a Celestron 8SE. I ended up leaving the store without buying anything. My biggest concern was portability. I wanted to get something that was small enough that I would not hesitate to take it out. After seeing the 8SE in the showroom I was concerned that it was big enough to be too big and too heavy. They did not have the 6SE on display so I walked out empty handed. After a weekend of reading reviews on the internet on both the 8SE and the 6SE I purchased a 6SE. I am very happy with the optical quality of the 6SE.
What I think the store personnel should emphasize (for the 6 or the 8) is to purchase an auxiliary power source-something beyond depending on AA batteries. The batteries are very short lived and when they are partially discharged the star alignment may not work or will work for a little while and then stop working. It took me several phone calls to Celestron Tech support to get them to suggest that the AA batteries are not a power source that can be depended on.
After living with the 6SE for a few weeks I am happy with choice to go with the smaller size. I think I will be able to see what I want to see. The drive mechanism is heavier than the optical tube for the 6SE. The same drive is used for the 8SE and the basic tripod is also the same. So, the difference in portability between the 8SE and the 6SE comes down to the optical tube. And yes, it would be nice to have 2 more inches.

Patrick M. about  iOptron SkyGuider Pro Full Package:

I really love this mount. Small, portable and versatile. Battery charge seems to extend beyond two all night sessions. The mount head weighs enough where a decent tripod is needed for sturdiness, but nothing too heavy duty. I've used the mount for both DSLR only and small scope (61mm William Optics or 70mm Stellarvue), and fairly simple. Polar alignment is easy. Only downside I've experienced, with the DSLR and ball head mount, you do have to disassemble to fix polar alignment issues. Not much that can be done for this due to the design of the ball joint. I've achieved without much effort up to 3 minute exposures with pinpoint stars, and hours of data acquisition.

Sue about  Vixen R130Sf Telescope:
Dec 5, 2018
This wasn't what I had pictures as a telescope prior to visiting the store, but the people at Skies Unlimited took the time to explain the differences between reflectors and refractors, as well as why the larger telescope is often the better one. This telescope has proven to be easy to use and I like that it came with two eyepieces instead of one.

Michael B. about  Celestron SkyMaster Pro 20x80:
Oct 27, 2016
My buying experience with Skies Unlimited was excellent. They kept me updated on the delivery of the Pro’s and shipped the day they arrived. I’ve been comparing my SkyMaster Pro’s with my GNU 7x50’s observing the southern hemisphere from southern California. Of course the Pro’s magnification is nice allowing to see a larger number of objects but I find the colors to be muted not as vibrant as the GNU’s; and somewhat more difficult to focus to a sharp image. Maybe this is not the right comparison to make but its all I have for now. Overall the construction of the Pro’s is good, they feel solid, and at over 5 lbs a hand full to hold. Much more enjoyable on a tripod.

It’s often said and it is so true that the best scope for you is the one you’ll use the most. This telescope combines the best of all worlds. Easy to move, great optics, simple operation since you don’t need to bring much other equipment out with you, it’s auto-alignment is beyond my expectations. You do have to calibrate it once (easy) and once that was done by goto’s using my iPad and the Celestron Skyportal app were spot on. Again with all the various systems working together it makes for an enjoyable evening under the stars without any of the frustrations of other systems. If your looking for a good all-around scope this is it. Just remember that if you are looking to do long deep space photography an equatorial mount would be better but moon and planet photography are well within reach with this scope.

Richard K. about  Pacific Design Case for 10-11" SCT:
Nov 1, 2017
I purchased the 10-11" bag so I would be able to slip my 8" OTA into the bag and still have enough room for my own foam padding providing extra protrction. The outer pocket is wide and deep, but could use just a bit more cloth than the sewn width so it would be easier to put things into it, or take them back out. The bag has comfotable handles to use for darrying the bag, but a shoulder strap should be included at this size so the OTA bag could be swung over the shoulder, leaving your hand free to open doors, carry another item, etc. The lack of a shoulder strap and the slightly small outer pocket opening are the only reasons this bag fails getting the full 5-stars. Recommended!

Mark S. about  TeleVue 8mm Ethos Eyepiece:
Apr 4, 2018
Can't say enough good things about the Ethos Eyepieces. Yes, they are pricey, but there just is nothing else that really compares. The extremely wide FOV is actually just about as wide as my eye can see, so it does not seem like looking into an eyepiece. It also make observing simpler. Normally I'm switching eyepieces in an out trying to frame the object as best as possible. With the Ethos, I tend to just put 1 eyepiece and leave it in. The FOV is so wide there really is no need to change it out, just observe.

Got the 8mm for a TeleVue Pronto, it yields 60X.

Finally got this and very happy with it. A little pricy but well worth the money. I read many other reviews and all agree that this eye piece is worth it. It was great finding it at my favorite telescope store, Skies Unlimited. And saved a few dollars to.

The Celestron NexStar 8SE Scope was easy to assemble and set up. The instructions assumed that the tube and the fork were pre-assembled and therefore did not warn about mechanical interference with the diagonal or focus knob with the base when viewing objects close to the zenith, so be careful. Batteries quickly loose charge when doing a lot of slewing and searching during an evening's worth of observation, so an auxiliary source is recommended. Optics are on par with other scopes of this size. The buying experience was easy and hassle-free.

I thought this would work for the NexStar Evolution 6 but it doesn't. The packaging for the NE6 is different. I contacted Sirius Tech and they have been awesome in resolving the differences. They are working with me to design a bag for the NE6! Skies Unlimited was a delight to order from too. All around a good experience even though the bag wasn't the right one.

Haven't had a chance to us the dew heater yet, but did mount it to my scope and tested it for a few hours. Unit has 4 individual channel controls + a direct 12V output port for a total of five channels. This is important for example, on nights with heavy dew I can run my finder scope dew heaters on low to medium but need to run the secondary mirror dew heater on high.

Build quality is OK, but this is a plastic case, not metal. RCA sockets are mounted to the circuit board, not the case so be gentle when connecting heater cords. If this heater had a metal case and the sockets mounted to the case I would have given 6 stars.
The unit is fuse protected so be sure to add a 5A fuse to your observing kit just in case.
